Rapid Authoring E Learning is the Training of the Future

Rapid authoring and new online training technology continues to have a considerable impact on e learning services, making it better and cheaper for businesses to improve their training.

A recent elearning report found that those technologies that allow learning and development to respond quickly to business needs have experienced the greatest growth in the last 2 years.

The 'Driving Business Benefits' report found that that the use of podcasting is up by 195%, rapid development tools up by 43% and the use of virtual classrooms up by 23% as companies begin to see the benefits of e learning services to cutting training costs and improving employee engagement.

“E-learning 1.0' was characterised by the rapid authoring of 'traditional' education contents online. ‘E-learning 2.0' is characterised by self-generated, grass roots learning content production, profiling and exchange,” says Fabrizio Cardinali, CEO of Giunti Labs and chair of the European Learning Industry Group (ELIG), who says that as e learning technology improves we are beginning to see the emergence of 'learning communities'.

"'E-learning 3.0' will see learning become personal, using constructive pedagogy and delivering individualised contents. It will be characterised by de-structured, well produced content which will be tagged using XML to make it available via mobile devices,” he concludes.

New rapid authoring technology makes it easy to add quizzes, learning games and tests into e-learning courses. Fully hosted online Channel Academy Training is a proven way to engage staff and offer excellent training solutions that provide tangible business results in an extremely cost effective way as even highly interactive e learning courses are generally only 25-40% of the cost of the same classroom course.
