Improve Staff Training with E Learning Company

Discover how a leading e learning company can significantly improve your staff training and reduce staff turn-over.

Marketing Week (1st July, 2010) reported recently that Harrods is the first UK retailer to begin offering a BA (Hons) degree course in sales. The two year course is being run with Anglia Ruskin University and will be a mixture of academic lectures and practical training from Harrods’ staff.

While companies such as McDonald’s, G4S and Tesco are also reportedly looking at the Harrod’s model of university degrees, hundreds of other smaller businesses have already recognised the need for providing staff with ongoing training. Confederation of British Industry (CBI) research recently revealed that half of employers (51%) are concerned they will not be able to fill posts requiring the right graduate level or higher skills in the coming years, and a third (32%) don't believe it will be possible to fill intermediate level jobs, requiring skills equivalent to A level.

A study by the Cranfield School of Management found that three quarters of the 1,189 companies surveyed believe that training their own staff was more beneficial to their business than recruiting people from outside. Interestingly, half the companies discovered that training staff made them more likely to stay. One-third found it increased staff motivation, and almost half actually saved money in the process.
