Social learning is cited as one of the most important developments in organisational learning today. But how do you train your staff effectively to adopt the rapidly emerging technology?
With over 400 million users on Facebook alone and LinkedIn proving an invaluable business resource, organisations can no longer overlook social networking for sharing know-how, but how do you train your staff within a large company to use it effectively for business?
The use of social media is a crucial issue in the marketing industry, where brand managers and agencies are clamouring to understand how best to use this new medium to sell products and services.
Research undertaken by Marketing Week revealed recently that more than half of all marketers are keen to be trained specifically in the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, yet just 23% are currently receiving training in the use of social media.
Fifty-nine per cent of respondents who worked in-house on brands were reported to say that training agencies offering courses on new and emerging technologies would benefit their company, with a great number putting emphasis on the use of web based training.
